• Mission statement
The Department of English Applied Linguistics strives for excellence in teaching and researching Applied Linguistics, Academic Writing, Translation, and English for Specific Purposes (ESP). Through the teaching of a variety of branches of Applied Linguistics, we show the importance of linguistics for understanding how language is acquired and used in practice.
We also aim to develop students' competence in writing and mediation skills, which they need both for their university studies and for their future career as English language professionals. Our goal is to educate students who can use the skills they have acquired at university in many different areas, and who will, at the same time, be prepared for life-long learning and an appreciation of language and all its richness.
